I'm Lissa, it's nice to meet you!

I made my first party hat when my eldest turned one. I wanted to make something that was as extraordinary as her character. I had a loose vision and began creating. Her name day hat came together so sweetly that I decided to design more.

I walked away from my corporate career, choosing to fulfill what I think is my most important calling yet...motherhood.

I started August Root to share my creative passions, but also to inspire others to gather often.

Since becoming a mother, savoring the special moments has become more relevant than ever, and I want my curated line of party goods and party hat designs to be a part of creating lasting memories in your life.
